Today is the 9th day of the Aquatober Challenge — where a bunch of us have decided to only drink water for the month of October. (by the way, it’s not too late to join in!) Some people following me on Facebook have asked about ideas for making water more “exciting”. Personally, I like water “au naturel” but I can see how it can seem boring and tasteless, especially when you are used to sugary and flavored drinks.
Here are some ideas for natural things you can add to your water:
1. Slice of lemon or lime
2. Slice of orange or grapefruit
3. Frozen berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries) — blend in blender and mix with the water
4. Herbal tea (have either hot or cold)
5. Slice of cucumber
6. Mint leaves
7. Unsweetened fruit juice (1-2 Tbsp)
8. Ginger
9. Parsley
10. Lemongrass
Try some of these out and let me know how it goes!
ps. Here are more ideas of natural ways to flavor water.
I got this idea from a friend. I add raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, lemon slices to ice cube trays with water and freeze. That way as my ice starts to melt I get flavored water ice water :)
Jess, what a great idea!! Thanks for sharing! Will have to try that…. maybe next summer… it’s getting cold now (no furnace yet) so drinking room temp water and tea. :S
