Sometimes it feels like we are invinsible. Like nothing bad can happen to us. Of course we see sad things happening in the world around us, but it’s often easy to dismiss and convince ourselves that we are somehow protected from it.

Sadly, life is precious. Life is fragile. Life can be taken away in a moment’s notice, without any warning.

Today my Facebook feed was flooded with posts about the unexpected loss of a fellow personal trainer. He was the good friend of a friend and I met him once. He was 31. Those who love him are heart broken.

During moments like this I find myself reminded not to take life for granted. To strive to live life to the fullest. To remember to tell those important to me that I love them.

I’m also reminded of legacy. What kind of legacy will you leave behind? Will you be remembered as a loving spouse, mother, father, daugther, son, friend? Will you be remembered as caring and kind-hearted? It’s true that “what we do in life echoes in eternity”. What will eternity say about you?

I certainly don’t always get it right, but I strive to live my best life. Be the best I can. Make smart choices so that I can stay as healthy as possible. Love large and have no regrets.

What about you?

Carpe diem (seize the day).

  1. Amazing post, thanks Lydia. And you’re right, life is precious but sadly we are only reminded of this when someone close to us passes away. I am determined to not take anything for granted from now on, and will continue living life to the fullest and will keep creating my legacy!
