Does this sound familiar?
The new year is approaching and there’s pressure for “a new you” or “the perfect body”. You decide it’s time to get healthy again. You go all in, cutting sugar, gluten, anything with a taste, no eating after 8pm, exercising every day for at least 1 hour, and so on. Everything you think you’re supposed to do.
You last a week, maybe two and then a ball drops, then another ball drops, you start missing workouts. The guilt creeps in, but because you’re already starting to fail, you say screw it, what’s one more day? Next thing you know you’re back to square one.
Can you relate?
The problem is that you’ve gotten stuck in black and white (all-or-nothing) mentality that keeps you in a perpetual cycle of trying (and failing) to become healthy.
I have a solution to the cycle!
The Grey Zone Mindset
What is the Grey Zone? It’s the space between all and nothing. It’s where real life happens. It’s accepting that perfection is impossible to maintain and that less than 100% does not equal failure.
The Grey Zone Mindset principles are:
- Choosing consistency over perfection
- Living healthy as a lifestyle
- Setting realistic expectations
- No guilt
Check out this short (5 min) video where I give a talk on exactly how to get into the Grey Zone Mindset and break free from the guilt and shame that comes from the all-or-nothing cycle.
I’d love to hear your comments about this!
